Littermaid Self Cleaning Litter Box Review

Reviewed in the united states on september 3 2017 i chose this box over the petsafe automatic litter box primarily due to the fact that petsafe requires use of the crystal litter which i abhor and i didn t like the disposable box idea.

Poor durability after a while. Besides its quiting to work in only 4 days the biggest problem with it is the waste box. Looks similar to the traditional litter box rake becomes sometimes. That is the basic concept of littermaid.

Costly maintenance with disposable trays and crystal litters. Unlike many other self cleaning litter boxes that employ advanced technologies and may be hard to figure out littermaid is a rather simple solution that is easy to understand and use. Well now i get this. Acceptable self cleaning strength disadvantages.

So with limited space and wanting one that should be easy to maintain i picked this piece of crap. Since the littermaid litter box rakes the litter 10 minutes after the cat leaves you need a litter that can clump and dry quickly. Since i bought the litter box 2 weeks ago i havent had any clogs and am actually using less kitty litter than before since it clumps so well. Stinks with the crystal litter.

From all the reviews on all the different self cleaning litter boxes out there it looked like it was pretty much a crap shoot to get a good one. Essentially what it does is rake the litter collecting the waste clumps and dumping them into a waste receptacle.
