Slide the expander off the bottom of the door and install the sweep.

Pick a flat area near the entry door lay the box flat on the ground fold it open and check to make sure you have all the parts.
Screw the bolts back into the door and you are finished.
Complete the installation by installing the door closer.
Replace it with the new one that has the screen insert already installed.
If you chose to install a new window the process is very straightforward.
Install the handle set and associated hardware of the new door lock.
Start at the top of the door and hold the retainer at about a 45 degree angle with the edge with writing on it facing you.
Use this measurement to mark the appropriate point on the hinge side z bar with a pencil then use your hacksaw to cut.
Step 3 remove window panes.
Take your measuring tape and measure the height of the door opening from the threshold to the bottom of the drip cap.
Set it and the screen panel in a safe place out of the wind.

Pull the splines out of the door frame groove with steady firm pressure.
The splines are pieces of narrow rubber tubing that keep the screen secure around the door frame.
Use an awl or your screwdriver to pry up the spline at the corner of the frame.
